File this under, “Hmmm, that’s very interesting.” It’s been no secret since FC Cincinnati announced they were hopping into the USL as an expansion franchise this season that their aspirations are greater than staying in the 3rd tier of US Soccer. I know, they haven’t even kicked a ball in USL play yet and already we’re talking about the future? Absolutely, but for a cool reason.
Michael Stump, from the blog alchmst.com, went a step further and gave fans of FC Cincinnati a visual of what that future could look like.
I took my crazy theoretical and imaginary future that included us losing the team’s name and logo, then combined it with my passion for my city’s deep German heritage. Then, I rolled it around in the idea that our sister city would want to become soccer siblings as well, and topped it off with a celebration of my family’s history with the Hudepohl brewing company…. and this is what came out! — Michael Stump
Those are some stunning kits! And though I’m personally not a fan of FC Bayern, these would look amazing on a team from Cincy!
