FC Cincinnati signed defender Chris Duvall to a contract for the rest of the season and an option for 2022, the club announced on Friday.

Duvall, 29, had spent time as a trialist with the club. A veteran with over 100 MLS appearances, mostly at right back, Duvall’s last minutes came with the Portland Timbers at the end of last season. He made 13 appearances in all competitions with the Timbers in 2020 and subbed in against FC Cincinnati during the MLS is Back knockout round.

The Timbers declined to pick up Duvall’s option for this season. He’s also played for the New York Red Bulls, CF Montreal and Houston Dynamo. In 129 appearances in all competitions for MLS sides dating back to 2014, Duvall has two goals and six assists.

I’m very happy to sign for FC Cincinnati,” Duvall said in a club media release. “I know a lot of guys on this team, and so to be able to join them is great. It means a lot to be able to sign on and help the squad.”
