FC Cincinnati loans McCabe to Memphis 901 FC

FC Cincinnati announced Thursday the loan of midfielder Tommy McCabe to USL Championship side Memphis 901 FC.

FC Cincinnati announced Thursday it is loaning midfielder Tommy McCabe to USL Championship side Memphis 901 FC. The loan states FCC can recall McCabe anytime during the 2020 MLS season.

FC Cincinnati drafted McCabe in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft with the 29th overall pick from the University of Notre Dame. In FCC’s first season in MLS, the young midfielder made six total appearances with two starts. He was loaned to USL Championship team North Carolina SC at one point in the 2019 season, where he made nine appearances in the USL Championship season and scored two goals.

Prior to his time playing soccer professionally, McCabe made 61 appearances in his three seasons for the Fighting Irish and tallied four assists and over 5,400 minutes played. As a freshman, he was ranked 10th in the postseason TopDrawerSoccer Freshmen Top 100 ratings and was also named to the TDS Freshman Best XI. Then, after his junior season, he was named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Third Team.
