At 8am this morning, FC Cincinnati announced that the team’s white away jersey was available for sale both online and in their retail store downtown. As with most FC Cincinnati gear, the demand has been sky-high and these jerseys are no exception. By 4pm, the team’s white jerseys in size large were completely sold out and the most they have left in any other size was a quantity of 16 (size small). They could be sold out as early as end of day today.
Most people are aware that FC Cincinnati’s match against the Charlotte Independence this past Saturday was cancelled due to poor field conditions and severe weather in North Carolina. If you were looking forward to the second leg of the Queen City Cup, you’re going to have to wait a little while. The match has been rescheduled to Wednesday August 31st at Ramblewood Soccer Complex. The Independence were coming into Saturday’s match on a hot streak of six unbeaten in the league so it may not be the worst luck that FCC won’t face them until later this year. That match will be played just 4 days after Harkes’ men meet Red Bulls II in New Jersey. Those two matches will serve as a stern road test given that Red Bulls II and Charlotte currently sit 2nd and 5th in the Eastern Conference respectively. FCC will then be back in action the following Monday for a Labor Day fixture against Western Conference opponent St. Louis FC at Nippert.
Stay tuned to Cincinnati Soccer Talk this week as we build up to Saturday’s home match against the Harrisburg City Islanders.
