FC Cincinnati trades for Austin FC CB Kipp Keller

FC Cincinnati officially announced the trade for CB Kipp Keller’s MLS rights from Austin FC. FCC sent over a 2024 third-round MLS SuperDraft in exchange. Following the trade, FCC and Keller agreed to a 2024 deal which included options in 2025 and 2026.

“I’d like to welcome Kipp to Cincinnati,” Chris Albright, FC Cincinnati General Manager, said in a news release. “We initially identified him before the 2022 draft as a talented young player with great potential. Now, we’re excited to have him join the group, and we look forward to his continued development with FC Cincinnati.”

Since FCC drafted Roman Celentano over Keller in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft, Keller was picked fifth overall by Austin FC.

While with Austin FC in those two seasons, Keller played a total of 17 matches across the regular season, U.S. Open Cup, CONCACAF Champions League and Leagues Cup. He also made 16 appearances for Austin FC II, the MLS NEXT Pro Champions, which were all starts.
