FC Cincinnati Gets International
[powerpress] Even though FC Cincinnati had the weekend off, the club still continued to make news last week. Their match against Charlotte was rained out 2 days prior to the match. Despite the rainout, FC Cincinnati announced their international friendly coming up in July. They also notched their first win in US Open Cup history when they knocked off Indy Eleven NPSL.

On This Episode

Bill Wolf and Michael Walker recap their experience at Nippert last week during FC Cincinnati’s US Open Cup debut win over Indy Eleven NPSL. We also discussed the next matchup in the tournament and what it means if they win. If they win, they’ll head up north to face the Columbus Crew at a neutral venue in Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. Boo.

We also were stoked to hear that FC Cincinnati will be hosting FA Cup Finalist, Crystal Palace, in a summer friendly on July 16th. Who would have thought that in Year 1 of this franchise, the Barclays Premier League would be calling? That’s exciting news for our city as well as the club.

Last but not least, we look ahead to Saturday’s home date against the Harrisburg City Islanders. This is a side that drew with FC Cincinnati a few weeks ago at home. They’re coming off a 2-1 win over Toronto FC on Tuesday night. Should be a solid matchup at Nippert Saturday night!
