Acosta, Barreal and Miazga named to 2023 MLS All-Star team

FC Cincinnati captain Luciano Acosta along with defenders Álvaro Barreal and Matt Miazga were named to the 2023 MLS All-Star Game roster. The match will be held July 19 at D.C. United’s Audi Field as the MLS squad will face Arsenal of the English Premier League.

This seasons contest will be the second in a row for Acosta and marks Barreal and Miazga’s first overall selections.

The team is comprised of 26 players. 12 players are voted in by fans, 12 nominations are made by head coach Wayne Rooney, along with 2 additions from MLS commissioner Don Garber.

FC Cincinnati is the only club to have three representatives at the match in Washington D.C. All three FCC players were voted in via the MLS All-Star game fan vote. To have three players voted into the match is a testament to the job the entire club is doing.

The 2023 MLS All-Star Game, and the MLS All-Star Skills Challenge on Tuesday, July 18, will be broadcast on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app.
